The Erlangen National High Performance Computing Center (NHR@FAU) is a central facility of the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. NHR@FAU covers HPC and AI/ML in all facets, including infrastructure design and operation, user support, collaboration with developers and scientists, training, research, and application expertise.
Key Expertise and Profile
- Atomistic simulations in quantum physics/chemistry, operating the Atomistic Simulation Center (ASC) with NHR@ZIB and PC2
- Machine learning, mainly LLMs and computer vision
- Hardware-efficient and scalable building blocks for sparse solvers
- CPU/GPU Performance Engineering and performance tool development
- Special feature: Coaching by liaison scientists from specific research fields
